This brooch takes inspiration from the dense undergrowth that surrounds the figures in Contradiction. Oberon and Titania (1854-1858) by Richard Dadd. Based on the solomon's seal plant at the front left foreground, the piece reflects Dadd’s passion for nature and miniaturist's eye for detail.

“I loved the lightness of the white flowers cutting through the hidden world of the fairies. In order to let the blooms really sing, I designed them as pendants that hang from the curved stem. I also wanted to maintain the matte, twisting quality of the leaves so used a 3D molded base plated in this antique gold. As you walk, the flowers jingle like little bells.”
