Made exclusively for the National Gallery of Ireland and inspired by 20th Century Cubist collage. This scarf is constructed from postcards, sketches, floor plans, newspaper clippings, designs, receipts, stamps, stencilled numbers, fortunes, and instructions from both the gallery’s archive and the designer’s collection.
Cubist collage aimed to blend high art with the everyday, layering art materials with fragments of urban life. The resulting artworks challenged artistic hierarchies and constructed a new kind of picture plane.
Measures 53cm x 53cm with a hand-rolled hem. Folded with love into a specially designed blue sleeve.

Care Instructions
Hand wash with cold or lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid rubbing or wringing, and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Lay flat to dry. Store folded or hung but avoid heavy pressure. Use a dust bag or soft fabric pouch to protect it from rough surfaces. I’ve been very lightly steaming my scarf from the back which keeps any creases out.
