I’m usually always about 30 years behind good music - I tend to only listen to two bands at a time and then some individual songs on repeat forever. This pin is based on one such song that I found about two years ago (31 years after its release): Birdhouse In Your Soul by They Might Be Giants.

I love absolutely everything about this song, its subject matter most of all. It’s about a bird-shaped nightlight that’s descended from mythic lighthouses, contains infinite stories and watches over you…for better or worse.

According to my 2021 Spotify Wrapped I listened to this song 138 times. As a result, it crops up in my dreams a lot, and sort of feels like a dream a child would have as they nod off looking at this bird in the darkness. I find it so pleasing to have this as a light-up pin that I can carry around. That’s it. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells.
